Summer Lovin’ Read-A-Thon: Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee & Page 99 Test

Who is your absolute favorite fictional female? What makes her so awesome?

Honestly, my favorite book characters are all male (Pat from The Silver Linings Playbook, Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Junior from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian). And when I think “favorite fictional female” Katniss from The Hunger Games trilogy automatically pops into my head. But I don’t wanna be that unoriginal. So I’m going with… Arya from A Song of Ice and Fire series.

Grab a book you have not read yet, turn to page 99, read that page, and let us now if you would continue reading the book based only off that page.

From my bookshelf I have selected Running with Scissors by Augusten Burroughs.

imagesPage 99 tells about “the doctor” and his wife Agnes. He has three mistresses and it sounds like Agnes is a little crazy and goes off on him sometimes. Best quote from this page: “She’s leaving the anal and moving into the phallic.”

Not sure if I’d read the book just from this page… I need to read a little more to decide.
